After attracting over 1.5 million visitors in 15 international cities, the world’s largest Banksy collection is going on show again in London. Featuring over 150 original artworks, The Art of Banksy opens in Soho at 100 Charing Cross Road on Thursday, April 11.

While this Banksy exhibition is not officially authorized or curated by the anonymous street artist, it features the world’s largest collection of authenticated Banksy originals. The Art of Banksy showcases over 150 canvases, prints, hand-drawn sketches, and other unique works and ephemera. Some of these objects have never been publicly displayed elsewhere.

In recent years, The Art of Banksy’s global tour has captivated crowds from Auckland, New Zealand to Washington, D.C. Following two especially successful runs in the English capital, The Art of Banksy is opening again in London on April 11—this time in Soho with even more exhibition space and exciting new additions to the collection.

Exhibition curator and producer Michel Boersma told BBC News that there is “no better location for a Banksy exhibition than London’s very own bohemian hub, Soho.” Boersma aims to find a permanent home for the exhibition in the near future.

Banksy is one of the most talked-about artists of our day. Since the 1990s, Banksy has been known to create subversive and satirical street art and other daring projects that explore social and political issues. Despite his celebrity, the anonymous artist’s real identity has yet to be publicly revealed.

Girl With Balloon and Flower Thrower are among the most iconic artworks on view at the new Soho residency of The Art of Banksy. Notably, the exhibition also features the debut of Banksy’s 2022 version of the Mona Lisa. This previously unknown work was purchased directly from the artist in 2003 by an unnamed Hollywood A-lister. In 2022, it was returned to Banksy who, true to form, transformed it into an entirely new piece.

Additionally, visitors to The Art of Banksy can expect to learn more about Banksy’s international public art installations, including Dismaland, The Walled Off Hotel in Bethlehem, and recent pieces addressing the ongoing war in Ukraine. The collection also boasts a rare selection of personal artworks that Banksy originally created for friends, colleagues, and significant others.

In addition to offering more square footage and exhibiting newly-collected artworks, the Soho location also features interactive audiovisual elements that bring Banksy’s unique story to life, a museum gift shop, and a café. “We can’t wait to share everything we’ve got planned for our new home,” Boersma told BBC News.
