Oana Stan is a Haarlem-based art historian specializing in early modern Dutch and Italian art. She holds an MA in Renaissance Studies from Utrecht University, where she wrote a thesis on the representation of early modern women artists in museum collections in the Netherlands and Belgium. After graduating, she worked at the RKD Netherlands Institute for Art History as an assistant researcher on the new catalogue raisonné of Frans Hals. She now develops educational programs through Women of Haarlem, the platform she founded to increase the visibility of women’s history.
